MFC U16 4-2 Abbey Hulton Youth Sunday 7 January 2018
After a long Christmas break the U16s returned to football today in the Staffs Challenge Youth Cup away in Stoke to Abbey Hulton. After soaking up the early pressure we were awarded a free kick which Joel stepped up to take and found the back of the net only for the lines man to rule offside. The lads found their passing game with some fantastic football and we were then awarded a corner in which our captain for the match, Archie found the back of the net. We kept up playing some brilliant football, then came a tackle where we were awarded a free kick, our player went down with a really serious injury and ended up in hospital. After a long break in play the game restarted and Abbey Hulton managed to level the game. 2nd half started in much the same way we were awarded yet another free kick and this time Joel fired it into the back of the net. Short time later after some fast play we were awarded a penalty which Breeze stepped and scored the rebound after a fine save from the keeper. The home team came more into the game and score a long range effort which made it 2-3. we restored the 2 goal lead when Ryan broke down the right and fired it into the top corner. All round fantastic team performance!! And now into the quarter finals. Well done lads and get well soon Elliot.
